## What Wendus does

Wendus keeps the operational parts of one wedding in one local app:

1. Import or enter guests and organize them by household.
2. Track invitations, RSVP status, meals, dietary and accessibility notes, plus-ones, and contact details entered by the user.
3. Build a deterministic, rule-aware seating plan and review unresolved hard rules or soft tradeoffs.
4. Import a venue PDF or image, calibrate its scale, place measured tables and zones, and turn restricted areas into seating rules.
5. Generate guest or household QR passes and check people in without venue internet service after the event is prepared on the device.
6. Send an encrypted, check-in-only packet to a nearby staff device running Wendus and merge returned check-ins.
7. Create vendor CSV files containing selected fields, encrypted local archives, and a passphrase-protected portable event backup.
8. Close out an event by archiving it, purging sensitive fields, retaining aggregate counts, or deleting app-managed local event data.

## Local-first model

The app stores its event snapshot locally in encrypted SQLite storage. Imported venue-map bytes are protected locally. Wendus does not send wedding event data to a developer-operated server and does not provide live cloud sync. A user can move an event with a passphrase-protected `.wendusbackup` file. Venue Handoff is a nearby encrypted packet exchange, not continuous synchronization.

The public website is separate from the app. wendus.app uses Google Analytics 4 and Cloudflare Web Analytics for aggregate website traffic and performance measurement; those services do not receive the wedding event data stored inside Wendus.

## Pricing model

Free Core supports one main event with up to 50 guests. A local three-day premium planning trial requires no payment and does not automatically charge. One Wedding Pass is a consumable purchase for one locked wedding period of up to 28 days. It removes Wendus's 50-guest cap for that period and enables multiple saved schedule events and premium venue tools. Apple's storefront displays the final localized price; the recorded United States price is $50.

## What Wendus is not

Wendus is not a wedding website builder, registry, guest portal, vendor account system, live cloud collaboration service, or automatic email/SMS/WhatsApp delivery service. Its seating engine is a deterministic heuristic with visible rules and issue reporting; it is not an AI model, an exact optimizer, or a guarantee of a conflict-free result.
