QR check-in
Wedding check-in that works when the venue Wi-Fi doesn't.
Wendus generates QR passes per household or per guest, checks them at the door from your iPhone camera, and never needs a network at the venue. The guest list, the passes, and every check-in record stay on your device.
- Generate one pass per household or individual passes per guest.
- Scan at the door fully offline — no server, no signal required.
- Catch duplicate, revoked, and expired passes automatically.
- Fall back to manual name search when a guest forgets their pass.
- Share passes as printable images through any channel you already use.
- Keep an audit trail of every scan attempt and override.
Venue Handoff
Give door staff the door list — and nothing else.
Venue Handoff pairs a nearby staff device by QR code and sends an encrypted packet containing only what admission needs: names, households, table numbers, and pass tokens. No contact details, no dietary notes, no venue sketch.
- Pair devices with a QR code and transfer over the local network.
- Packets are encrypted and expire 48 hours after the event.
- Staff devices scan, admit, and record manual overrides independently.
- Return packets merge check-in records only — nothing else changes.
- Revoke a trusted device at any time.
FAQ
Check-in questions
Does QR check-in work without Wi-Fi or cell service?
Yes. Once passes and seating are prepared, scanning and check-in run entirely offline at the venue. No server is involved.
Do the QR codes contain guest details?
No. Each pass is an opaque random token matched against hashed values on the device. A photographed or forwarded QR code reveals nothing about the guest.
What if a guest arrives without their pass?
Use the manual fallback search to find them by name and record a manual check-in with a reason. Duplicate admissions are still caught.
Can door staff use their own device?
Yes, with premium access. Venue Handoff sends an encrypted, check-in-only packet to a nearby device running Wendus, and merges the check-in records back afterward.
